<p>The article examines the transformation of media design in the digital media environment through the concept of the chronotopic turn, understood as a shift toward the increasing significance of temporal parameters in the organization of communication. Three modes of media design development are identified: spatial, temporal, and reactive. Particular attention is paid to reactive media design as an emerging form of digital communication design aimed at sustaining continuous user interaction with the media environment. Drawing on examples from contemporary digital media, the study demonstrates how the object of design has evolved from the organization of messages to the organization of interaction and, subsequently, to the management of the temporal dynamics of communication processes. The article argues that the spread of reactive media design reflects broader transformations in digital media systems, where continuity of engagement becomes a key design principle. It is concluded that reactive media design significantly influences journalistic practices by reshaping the production, distribution, and consumption of media content. The concept is proposed as an analytical framework for understanding ongoing changes in media communication within platform-based environments.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>media communication</kwd><kwd>journalism</kwd><kwd>reactive media image</kwd><kwd>media environment</kwd><kwd>media design</kwd><kwd>chronotopic turn</kwd><kwd>reactive media design</kwd><kwd>digital media</kwd><kwd>platform media</kwd><kwd>user experience</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>медиадизайн</kwd><kwd>хронотопический поворот</kwd><kwd>реактивный медиадизайн</kwd><kwd>цифровые медиа</kwd><kwd>платформенные медиа</kwd><kwd>пользовательский опыт</kwd><kwd>медиакоммуникация</kwd><kwd>журналистика</kwd><kwd>реактивный медиаобраз</kwd><kwd>медиальная среда</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">1.
